A simply terrific, finest quality, gleaming translucent Victorian Pique brooch, in beautiful lightly worn condition, no major issues, a mark or two to the outer edges, some fine graining visible under a loupe, but nothing of any note. I have seen many such brooches over the years, but never one in this condition, & it is the first I have seen in this deep plump stylized flower which also incorporates a closed or solid back, I do not collect Pique pieces, so no expert, but have never before seen one which did not have a hollow back, though have no way of knowing if it is all one piece or if the back has been attached, it looks to be all of a piece. Measuring 4cm (1.5) in diameter by. 4, deep, the heavily curved petals having a row of gold inlay running just off midway, the top of the flower having been highlighted with mother of pearl which almost looks like fire opal, I can find no inlay missing, & just one minute pinprick towards the base of one curling frond.

& as the norm finished off with a metal or brass pin. (I recommend you measure against other brooches you own to give an idea as to the size). YES SI (though not original to the brooch).
