Antique Victorian Carved Cameo Brooch Venus Cupid Satyr 1890

A very lovely and very rare antique Victorian natural shell cameo, beautifully hand carved to depict Venus, Cupid and another cherub along with a satyr with goat's hind quarters, in an ocean or sea scenery. The cameo is custom set in a marked solid 9 carat rose gold mount to be worn as a pin, ca. As you can see, the shell is very thick and the carving is wonderfully executed, the piece is in very good condition, there is a tiny surface flake on 3 o'clock, which has been greatly enlarged by the photo, and a natural shell fault at the top left corner only visible from the back, neither would detract the beauty or the safety of the piece. There is a stamp of "9CT" to the bottom of the frame, the brooch pin catch has been fastened and is currently in good working order. 2 inches by 1 1/2 inches.
