A large late 19th century oval hand carved shell cameo depicting a seated lady in a garden setting, the colour in the shell used to good effect to highlight the stonework in the garden. The shell is mounted into a substantial plain 9ct gold frame that has the original gold pin and early safety roller clasp in excellent working condition. There is a loop at the top of the frame for a safety chain.
The metal is unmarked tested as 9ct gold. No cracks chips to the shell with only very slight wear and overall in very good condition.
