Antique/Vintage Georgian/Victorian Carved Coral Skull Mori Memento 14K Rose Gold Stick Pi n. 1/2" Tall x 3/8" Wide (skull). Hallmarks: Looks like it was hallmarked at one time, but has since worn off. Condition: Was cracked and repaired long ago, otherwise in good antique condition with straight pin. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS FOR CLOSE DETAIL OF THIS AREA! It may have been a fob at one time, and was converted to a stick pin, but today it could be worn however you wanted.

Generally, the detailed angel skin coral Georgian skull fobs are some of the hardest to find. This particular piece is wonderfully aged, lovely salmon color with some variation of the saturation of color throughout. The skull has been skillfully hand-carved with wonderful detail for such a tiny piece. This is a Memento Mori piece which would have been a reminder to the wearer of the certainty of death and thus, to live in today rather than focus on the future.

Memento mori et carpe diem! " from the Latin translates roughly as "Remember that you must die and seize the day! It has a gold top attached to it with a bale so it could be used as a pendant, charm, or fob, but the gold dangle stick pin is awesome as it is!

This piece is offered in fair, antique condition with a break running along the top back portion of the head, which was repaired long ago. Even with this break, it's a fantastic piece that looks nice for it's age. Please refer to the photos as they are an important part of this item's description.
