Gorgeous Large Antique Victorian 9ct Gold Carved Shell Cameo Brooch Pin

A very fine quality antique solid gold mounted brooch set with a lovely natural carved shell cameo depicting a classical female profile, it is marked "9CT" and tests as such. It measures about 5.1 cm long, 4.1 cm wide and weighs about about 10.8 grams, there is a strong hinged pin, rollover safety clasp and safety chain loop if required, it most likely dates from around the late 19th century. It is in very good condition for its age and type, there are some light wear that you would expect to see but it remains sturdy and appears original.
