A very decorative and well made piece, it dates to the late Louis Phillippe era and is very much in the classical Baroque taste. The large proportions command attention in any setting. The detail of the carving is sublime and clearly the work of a master craftsman. The piece has been professionally upholstery cleaned, there are some losses and wear to the carving, one of the right fawns legs is missing, some of the fingers on both and so on, I can have this piece fully restored for the cost price however I have left it as it is because the condition shows the age honestly.
