Vintage 14K Yellow Gold Carved Banded Onyx Cameo Ring. The cameo is made of finely carved banded onyx.
This ring is a size 10, and weighs 8.8 grams. The cameo measures approximately 13.4 mm long x 9.9 mm wide. The front of the ring measures approximately 29 mm long by 18 mm wide. The ring is stamped on the inside of the band 14K. It looks like part of the setting is missing at the bottom. There is an appendage sticking out of the bottom on one side but not on the other side. I'm not sure but it looks to me like it could be a modified brooch turned into a ring. If that's the case this was done a very long time ago by a professional jeweler.
