Victorian 9ct Gold Hand Carved Mother of Pearl Cavalier Portrait Cameo Brooch

A beautiful and unusual Victorian cameo brooch, circa 1880. Mounted in an unmarked gold frame (tested 9ct), a wonderful hand carved portrait of a cavalier in profile. Depicts the typical fashion of the Court of King Charles 1, during the English Civil War. Very nicely done with the wide brimmed hat, curling hair and beard.

Good strong base metal pin fastens securely within the'c' catch. Measurements: 50mm by 41mm with a max depth of 10mm (including frame).
