Victorian oak copper neoclassical carved Ang gilded large fire surround mantel. This is a very impressive Neoclassical Victorian fire surround made around 1880 in solid oak. The surround has double reeded columns to each side with beautifully carved capitals.
The carved corbel is gilded in copper as is the mantel and the rope profile on the frieze. The fire surrond stands on plinth bases. This is a very imposing fire surround. The glint of copper against oak is very opulent. The fire surround is in good antique condition.
The fire surroynd is 63 inches wide and 49 inches high. The mantel is 8 inches deep. The'hole' is 39 inches wide and 40 inches high.
